Asteroid Apophis in 2012

Asteroid Apophis  in 2012. There is a large asteroid, made entirely of iron, currently speeding toward earth.  Discovered in 2004, it’s called “Apophis,” after the Greek-Egyptian god of death and destruction.  And the asteroid named after a god of death will be the largest and closest thing to come near Earth than any other object in recorded history.  It will come so close, near to earth that it will actually be closer to the ground than orbiting communications satellites.  It will be seeable with the naked eye as a point of intense light burning across the sky.
It pass near Earth on October 2012.But that’s not even the scariest part. Scientists are nearly certain that the asteroid won’t hit when it swings by in 2012.  But there’s a possibility that, if Earth’s gravity affects the asteroid’s path enough, it will swing back around the Sun and strike the Earth on oct21 2012.So, if Apophis does hit Earth in 2012, where, exactly, will it hit? Easy way to depends on how much Earth’s gravity pulls on Apophis.
Scientists are fairly certain that the asteroid would hit in one of 3 large areas in the world that place may be the first would be an impact in the Pacific Ocean, just off the coast of California. The second area of impact would be in the great forests of north Russia. The third impact zone would place the asteroid striking somewhere southeast of the easterly coasts of the United States and Mexico, Northwest Africa, and the eastern coasts of Central and South America.

NASA Repots says Solar flare will not end world in 2012.

NASA Reports says Solar flare will not end world in 2012. NASA report says that in a statement released on November 10, have denied the latest doomsday predictions making the rounds that the world will end in a massive solar flare in 2012.NASA denied stories being peddled by Armageddon prophets that the sun will shoot out a massive flare that will travel across space and burn the world to ashes. NASA, in its statement, titled, Killer Solar Flares Are a Physical Impossibility.

Some people worry that a gigantic killer solar flare could hurl enough energy to destroy Earth. Citing the accurate fact that solar activity is currently ramping up in its standard 11 year cycle, there are those who believe that 2012 could be coincident with such a flare.

But NASA pointed out that the peak in the sun's activity will come in 2013 and not 2012. NASA referred to a flare that occurred in October 28, 2003, which it says is the most powerful flare ever measured by scientists. In spite of its power, the flare, according to NASA, did not end the world, because 'There simply isn't enough energy in the sun to send a killer fireball 93 million miles to destroy Earth'. Speculations that the world will end in 2012 have been popularized by doomsday preachers who say the Mayan calendar will expire on December 21, 2012. End-of-world date setters say the end of the Mayan 5,126-year epoch marks, also, the end of the world.

Technologies will end the world in 2012

Technologies will end the world in 2012.According to the Mayan calendar, we currently live in the 5th or 6th human kind era. The previous ones were destroyed either by floods, fire, earthquakes or other natural causes. Do you all think that mythology is JUST mythology or covered up truth for the plain human beings that wish to live a straight written down path in their lives? The calendar says that there will be a huge destruction that not many of us will survive. And then it will be the beginning of the next human era. But forget about it and look around you for a change.
What is going on earth in 2012.New viruses are appearing but we are not sure if they are biogenetic ones or just arise through evolution. What kind of air are we breathing? What kind of food are we eating? What kind of radiation are we receiving through all this blast of technology? The ozone layer that is destroyed and also some change causes in greenhouse effect.
We all hear those things for years. Are they just a myth or a warning? How much longer will we live without the consequences start to appear and be irreversible? Has anyone thought about all these or maybe you are all just thinking about how YOU shall live your lives better? We have contaminated EVERYTHING. We WILL destroy the earth ourselves.
What kind of secret projects are being planned or are already put in motion? Do you think that science fiction is far away from the truth? When Galileo Galilei announced that the earth was round they burnt him into flames, because there were so narrow minded that they couldn’t just believe that this MIGHT be the truth and at least explore the possibility. Keep seeking the truth. I don't mean that the entire of world is full of conspiracy theories. BUT SOMETHING IS DEFINATELY WRONG in the year 2012.

ASTRONOMY MYTHS says world end in 2012

ASTRONOMY MYTHS. The myth that the world will end in December 2012 started with claims that Nibiru, a supposed planet discovered by the Sumerians, is heading toward Earth. Zecharia Sitchin, who writes fiction about the ancient Mesopotamian civilization of Sumer, claimed in several books (e.g. The Twelfth Planet, The Stairway to Heaven, The End of Days) that he has found and translated Sumerian documents that identify a planet Nibiru orbiting the Sun every 3,600 years. Sitchin's Sumerian fables include stories of astronauts visiting Earth from an alien civilization called the Anunnaki.

After these books appeared, Nancy Lieder, a self-declared psychic, wrote on her web site ZetaTalk that the inhabitants of a fictional planet orbiting the nearby star Zeta Reticuli warned her that Earth was in danger from Nibiru. The prediction said the collision of Nibiru and Earth would occur in May 2003.

Some people claim NASA found Nibiru in 1983 using the Infrared Astronomy Satellite (IRAS), which carried out a 10-month sky survey. IRAS cataloged 350,000 infrared sources, and initially many of these sources were unidentified. Astronomers have followed up all of these observations with more powerful instruments both on the ground and in space.

When nothing happened in that month, claimants moved the doomsday date forward to December 2012. Only recently have people linked these two fables to the end of the Mayan long-count at the winter solstice in 2012 hence the predicted doomsday date of December 21, 2012.

Galactic Alignment Spells Doom

Galactic Alignment Spells Doom. Many Sky-watchers believe 2012 will close with a "galactic alignment," which will occur for the first time in 26,000 years. In this scenario, the path of the sun in the sky would appear to cross through what, from Earth, looks to be the midpoint of our galaxy, the Milky Way, which in good viewing conditions appears as a cloudy stripe across the night sky.

Some fear that the lineup will somehow expose Earth to powerful unknown galactic forces that will hasten its doom perhaps through a pole shift or the stirring of the super massive black hole at our galaxy's heart.
NASA's Morrison has a different view. There is no 'galactic alignment' in 2012, he said, or at least nothing out of the ordinary. He explained that a type of alignment occurs during every winter solstice, when the sun, as seen from Earth, appears in the sky near what looks to be the midpoint of the Milky Way. Horoscope writers may be excited by alignments, Morrison said. But the reality is that alignments are of no interest to science. They create no changes in gravitational pull, solar radiation, planetary orbits, or anything else that would impact life on Earth.

The speculation over alignments isn't surprising, though, he said. Ordinary astronomical phenomena are imbued with a sense of threat by people who already think the world is going to end. Maya astronomers built observatories and, by observing the night skies and using mathematics, learned to accurately predict eclipses and other celestial phenomena. These choices may indicate that the Maya calendar is tied to seasonal agricultural cycles central to ancient survival.

End of the world 2012 phenomenon

End of the world  2012 phenomenon comprises a range of eschatological beliefs according to which cataclysmic or transformative events will occur on 21 December 2012.21 This date is regarded as the end-date of a 5,125year long cycle in the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar. Various astronomical alignments and numerological formulae have been proposed as pertaining to this date, though none have been accepted by mainstream scholarship.

The New Age interpretation of this transition is that this date marks the start of time in which Earth and its inhabitants may undergo a positive physical or spiritual transformation, and that 2012 may mark the beginning of a new era. Others suggest that the 2012 date marks the end of the world or a similar catastrophe. Scenarios suggested for the end of the world include the arrival of the next solar maximum, or Earth's collision with an object such as a black hole, a passing asteroid, or a planet called "Nibiru".

Some various disciplines have dismissed the idea of such cataclysmic events occurring in 2012. Professional Mayanist scholars state that predictions of impending doom are not found in any of the extant classic Maya accounts, and that the idea that the Long Count calendar "ends" in 2012 misrepresents Maya history and culture. Astronomers and other scientists have rejected the proposals as pseudoscience, stating that they conflict with simple astronomical observations and amount to, "a distraction from more important science concerns, such as global warming and loss of biological diversity
